CMPD safety TIPS

Dear Magnolia Acres Community,

I wanted to share some essential tips on how to effectively call 911 in emergencies and remind you that you have the option to remain anonymous when reporting incidents. Additionally, I have attached a flyer with valuable information on preventing package thefts from your front porch.

Calling 911: In case of an emergency, calling 911 is a crucial step to get immediate help. Here are some tips to ensure a quick and efficient response:

  • Stay Calm: Try to remain as calm as possible and clearly state your emergency. Speak slowly and clearly to provide essential details.
  • Know Your Location: Be sure to provide your exact location, including the street address, building/apartment number, and any nearby landmarks. This helps responders reach you quickly.
  • Describe the Situation: Give a concise description of the emergency, such as a medical issue, fire, accident, or suspicious activity. Include any important details you observe.
  • Follow Instructions: Listen carefully to the 911 operator’s instructions and follow them accordingly. They are trained to provide guidance until help arrives.
  • Remaining Anonymous: We want to emphasize that you have the right to remain anonymous when reporting incidents to law enforcement. Your safety and peace of mind are essential, and you should not hesitate to report suspicious activities. Your identity will be protected.
  • Preventing Package Thefts: With the holiday season approaching, package thefts can become more common. To safeguard your deliveries, please review the attached flyer, which contains helpful tips on how to prevent package thefts from your front porch. Following these guidelines can help ensure your packages are secure.

If you have any questions, concerns, or need assistance with anything related to community safety or other matters, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Stay safe!
